Anna Sullivan

Anna Sullivan is a senior from Elmwood Park High School who is thrilled to be a part of the Illinois State Action Team for the 2015-2016 school year. Anna has many interests, but it was not until she found DECA that she knew she had discovered her passion. As a freshmen, she attended ICDC and has full intentions of becoming the first member of her chapter to compete at the international level all four years of her high school career. She has served two terms as Vice President of Communications in her chapter and has been elected President this year. She was able to assist her chapter in earning gold for iConnect, increase membership, adapting new social media, and prepare incoming members and help them feel more comfortable during their first competitive events.
This is Anna’s second year as a state officer. Last year she was Vice President of Member Relations. Her major responsibility was iConnect, and she had an amazing time communicating and connecting with members from all around the state. She would like to continue this connection to ensure every member have an Epic year.
Aside from DECA, Anna enjoys taking every opportunity that comes her way. She is an active member of her school’s varsity tennis team, and she loves to play basketball and has been the floor captain for two years. She is the Vice President of her school’s Thespian Society and thoroughly enjoys performing on stage. Through her school’s Snowball chapter, she has been able to influence her peers to live healthy lifestyles and is given additional opportunities to reach out to younger members of the community.
On her free time, Anna’s favorite past time is being with her friends. Whether it’s going on a scavenger hunt across town, or just a simple movie night, there’s never a dull moment.
Anna is tremendously grateful to her incredible family, friends, and her spectacular advisor for their never-ending love, support, and guidance in all of her DECA endeavors. She looks forward to working with this year’s amazing State Action Team and cannot wait to see the Epic things this year hold for Illinois DECA.
